Four Lines Counseling
Founded by a licensed mental health professional with clinical experience, blending evidence-based techniques with a warm, personalized approach. We specialize in-person and virtual care, making high-quality therapy accessible, confidential, and convenient.
With a background in art education, experience supporting families throughout the joys and challenges of parenthood, and couples work, Debra Aase-Farnum brings a creative, compassionate, and relationship-centered approach to helping individuals and families navigate life’s transitions. Her practice is rooted in empathy, belonging, and authentic connection. Together, you and Debra build on your strengths, work toward healing, growth, and meaningful repair within yourself and your relationships.
Debra specializes in anxiety, depression, self-understanding, grief, trauma, women's issues, relational skills, and behavioral concerns. Using a Person-Centered approach, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), couples therapy, expressive arts, attachment theory, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to create lasting change.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to do it alone. Whatever brings you here, you'll be met with empathy, curiosity, and care. Debra will be honored to walk alongside you. Reach out when you're ready.
What’s in a name?
Four Lines counseling’s name is inspired by a passage from the book A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness. The following lines communicate repair, connection, empathy, and belonging, the qualities intrinsic to Debra’s approach to care.
“Four lines, and the world went quiet.
I'm sorry for telling everyone about your mum, read the first line.
I miss being your friend, read the second.
Are you okay? read the third.
I see you, read the fourth, with the I underlined about a hundred times.”
